Mary J Howell was born and brought up in the West Midlands with her mother, two sisters, a tabby cat and an accent to die for. She now lives in North West Wales with a view of sunsets over the sea.
School, university, and a variety of jobs including nursing, teaching, orthodontist assistant, led ultimately to writing. The first intimation of success came when the Guardian published articles in the Family section and paid a handsome £100. A short story followed. We Need to talk About Mr Collins was published by Honno in the anthology Dancing with Mr Darcy and a first novel, Murielle’s Angel was published by Cinnamon Press.
She studied for an MA in Creative Writing and Translation at Bangor University.
